Osprey Holiday Lights

Thousands of Chrismas lights decorate the old nursery property in Osprey, FL

For the first time in 20 years the derelict old Webster Nursery property in Osprey, Florida has been lit up for the holiday season.

Developer Henry Rodriguez and Osprey, FL activist Judy Johnson coordinated the effort by volunteers who spent several days placing Christmas trees and thousands of lights and figures on the old site which had long been an eyesore. Mr. Rodriguez, who successfully obtained a unanimous Sarasota County Commission vote to rezone the property to make way for a new Wal-Mart said the lights, "make a statement." According to Mr. Rodriguez, the lights show that Osprey, Florida is not standing still and this former eyesore can be made into something that Osprey will be proud of.
